I want to see if my weekly (Monday-Friday) quarantine life is like everyone else’s. Lots of Zoom or video conferencing, lots of emails, and lots of zombie time in front of the TV. Now before you read on I understand that I am BLESSED to have a job. I was furloughed during this pandemic and didn’t know if I was going to work again. My job did bring me back and for that I am grateful.
Also, I recognize that my struggles are NOTHING compared to people who have kids. My husband and I were thinking about having children and holding off until this pandemic is more stable. If you have kids that are doing school at home and you are trying to balance that with working full time then I bow down to you! I don’t know how you are doing it! I know it’s because you have to but you deserve a bow and many glasses of wine.
Feel free to let me know in the comments below what your day looks like in this groundhog life called quarantine.
Monday-Friday
6:00 am Alarm goes off
6:05 am Check email in bed
6:15 am Brush teeth/have small panic attack over everything going on in the world
6:30-7:30 am Workout/Mediate (have to do it early because I honestly won’t do it later)

8:00-8:30 am Check schedule, write emails, brainstorm, and get the brain going
8:30-9:00 am Take shower (My husband and I work side-by-side and he has kindly ask that I don’t wait all day to shower)
9:00-1:00 pm Zoom meetings (in between meetings I answer/send more emails and drink LOTS of coffee
1:00-2:00 pm Lunch break/walk the dog (if I’m lucky I get an hour) (I stopped watching Netflix during lunch because my eyes were tired of looking at screens. I try to read instead)
2:00-6:00 pm More Zoom! (oh yeah and more emails and project planning) (also more coffee)
6:00-7:00 pm Finish up work for the day and create a plan for tomorrow
7:00-8:00 pm Make dinner/call family & friends (This sometimes results in burnt broccoli)
8:00-10:00 pm Eat & watch Netflix/HBO/Amazon Prime, etc. (pre-quarantine we tried to eat dinner at the dining table but I see my husband all day and don’t have much to talk about by then)
10:00-11:00 pm Bedtime/reading time (or more Instagram)
Hours in front of the screen: 10-12 hours depending on day
Hours I WISH I was on Zoom: 3 hours/ Hours I’m ACTUALLY on Zoom: 6-8 hours
In the words of Phoebe Buffay…
XOXO
